במרבית העיר אין סימן לשריפה ואיכות האויר כמעט רגילה. הבעיה בדרום העיר, כלומר ליד האוניברסטה ומעט מערבה לכיוון דרום דניה וצפון טירת הכרמל. אני מצרף תמונה שהופיעה היום בעיתון. כמובן שהתפשטות עשן גדולה יותר מאזור האש בכמה ק"מ.
אגב, המחרטה שלי לא בבית אלא באזור עתלית, כק"מ מאזור האש הנוכחי. נראה מה מצבה בעוד כמה ימים. בבית אורן שמעתי כבאי מספר שהחום הגיע לסביבות 3000 מעלות. דייר סיפר שלא ניתן להכנס לביתו כי המזגן נמס על הדלת וחלקי המתכת שלו כרגע אוטמים את הכניסה. כרגע מעניין רק לראות שכול העוסקים במלאכה יחזרו בשלום, כולל הנפגעים הנמצאים בשיקום. העסק יתבהר עוד יומיים שלושה.

Hi Max,
Thank you for the update, I did not realize that the fire spread so far south. From what I'm reading it seems like they gain control over the blaze so I hope it is about to be over
I hope your lathe and of course the rest who lives near by are all safe and sound

BTW - if you want some Apricot turning stock, you are more than welcome to stop by, I have way too much of it and, unfortunately, had to use some as firewood (only very small, defected pieces) due to lack of storage space

I'm not a big fan of meat nor have the required equipment for smoking, so I guess I'll just use it to reduce my gas bill in the coming months.
I have quite a few of them drying out in the "homemade kiln" so far I had quite big success drying fresh cut bowls with very few checks and cracks, but I'll have to wait and see with this type of wood
